Project Approach



Gram Panchayat which has the resource management authority and the approval power of micro plans is the unit for selection in the project.
Micro-planning was conducted and completed in 4 phases. The micro plan for each PDC was required to be prepared through adequate RRA methods. This requires a period of about 6 months for the completion of a Panchayat Development Plan. All PDC members, Community Based Organizations, UG, and SHG members, and hamlets residents including those affected by soil erosion, socially disadvantaged people, and forest dependents participated in the micro plan preparation. Out of 96 Gram Panchayats, 15 GPs in the first phase, 23 GPs in second phase, 32 GPs in 3rd phase and in 4th phase 25 GPs were selected for planning and implementation. However, in 4th phase of planning the Gram Panchayats lying in the valley area of Swan Catchment, only livelihood planning was done.

 Steps followed in the Micro-planning process
